Since its inception in 1981, the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program has offered short-term help to families all over the United States. Middle Georgia Community Action Agency/Heart of Ga Community Action Council is proud to participate in this successful program and to be able to help families in our community get help with energy assistance when they need it most.
MGCAA/HOGCAC assists qualifying households with a one time payment per program year for Heating.
Income eligible households may contact the scheduling system to schedule and appointment.

What To Bring To Your Appointment
At a minimum, you will need the following items to verify eligibility for this type of assistance:
*Drivers License or ID for each person in household 18 years of age and older--- *proof of age for children(Birth Certificate)
*Social Security Card for every person living in the household
*Proof of income for the last 30 days from ALL sources of income for everyone 18 years of age and older living in the household
*Entire electric bill from the last 30 days usage must have service address and account number printed on it
*Entire heating bill(LP or natural gas) from the last 30 days usage for residence verification
* Water Bill ( If Applicable) from the last 30 days usage for residence verification
( Client can choose which utility bill the payment goes towards if they have electric and gas)
-All income and bills must be printed off before arriving to your appointment .
-Homebound clients can authorize someone else to complete the application by providing written consent.
Authorization must be presented upon the intake appointment.
